Our family has been in the ranching business for more than 100 years, you could say it runs pretty thick in our blood. We’ve been through the hard times, we’ve been through the good times. During all of that time, we have learned something: If you take care of what you’ve been blessed with, continually improving along the way, it lasts quite a bit longer.

We started raising Gelbvieh cattle specifically in 2005 when we had the opportunity to purchase an entire herd from a local retiring rancher. Since then, we have put in the time learning as much as we can about this breed and the genetics available. Each year we invest in our herd by purchasing the best herd sires we can to produce the best herd sires that we can.

Gelbvieh cows are excellent mamas, producing large quantities of high fat and nutritious milk to keep calves healthy and strong. They also have a natural maternal instinct that makes them perfect range animals, protecting their young and each other.

"Balancer cattle are registered hybrid seedstock that have documented pedigrees and expected progeny differences (EPDs). Balancer animals are 25 to 75 percent Gelbvieh with the balance of Angus or Red Angus. Balancer cattle combine the Gelbvieh growth, muscle, leanness, fertility, longevity and low yield grading ability with the carcass qualities of Angus." American Gelbvieh Association
